Common Questions About Our Church
What are Service times?
Sunday Morning Worship: 10:30 AM
Wednesday Bible Study: 6:30 PM
What do I wear?
Clothes. Dress up if you wish or come as you are. We have no one to impress but God, and He knows who we really are no matter what style of clothes we have on.
What is your music style?
We take a very conservative, balanced approach to our worship styles. Although worship is the whole service and NOT just singing, singing is an important part of that. We sing Hymns, Southern Gospel, and many of the more traditional Contemporary Worship songs. Our music, first and foremost, must be God-honoring and Jesus-focused! We have live music and also sing by soundtrack. We are always looking for talented musicians who wish to serve God with the talents He has given them.
Is your congregation younger or older?
The majority of our current congregation is younger, with children, but we also have solid pillars of the faith.
How big is your church?
Crosslife is still a very young church plant. Right now, we have, at most, 30-40 people in worship on Sunday morning. We are growing, so there is plenty of room for you and your family!
Do you have a children’s ministry?
Yes. Everyone begins upstairs and worships together. After the singing, Children ages 5-12 have the option of going downstairs for kid’s church. We do not currently have an infant nursery because there is no current need. One will be developed when the need arises.
How do you feel about crying babies?
We love them. Noisy babies are a sign that your church is alive and growing. We do have a mother’s room with one-way glass that is available should the mother need to nurse or console a really upset baby. However, the use of this room is not expected or required.
Are there opportunities to volunteer?
As a small church, we are always looking for volunteers not only for our “in-house” needs but also to increase our community service and outreach.
What style of preaching is there?
The focus of our services is always, first and foremost, the Word of God. Pastor Daniel preaches Expository sermons. Occasionally, a topical sermon is thrown in there, but even then, the topic is rooted firmly in the Bible. If you do not know what “Expository” means, it means that we look at Scripture passages verse by verse in great detail. We want to hear what god says, not man.
Who is the Pastor, and what is his training?
Pastor Daniel Gamble has been in ministry for 24 years. He is 38 years old. He has been a Lead Pastor for almost 11 years. He has a BS and MA in Leadership: Pastoral Ministry from Lee University. He has an MA in Theology from Liberty. He is currently writing his dissertation for a PhD in Bible Exposition at Liberty.
Is church like a nightclub or traditional?
We are definitely not a nightclub. Traditional church can mean a lot of different things to different people, so the best we can say is, “Come give us a try and see.” However, we do not have fog machines or laser light shows, and we are not a concert.
